Our Cultural Heritage, Batik.

Lots of people have a misconception about our national art, Batik. People often think that batik is only suitable for formal occasions or for elderly, because batik is identic with brown colors. But, nowadays there are bunch of batik with bright colors and more motives that suits teenagers. There are also bunch of stores that sells modern batik clothing.  

One of the reasons why I want to be a fashion designer is because I want to develop batik more. For me, batik is something that we need to expand because of its beauty. It really resembles Indonesia, especially the flora of Indonesia. 

My outfit right here is the example of modern batik, maybe it looks a bit formal. But, there are lots of simpler modern batik looks out there that can be our daily basis outfit. For my outfit, I made it when I had my course a year ago (you can check more of my creation in @lyncespace_) and I paired it with a black heels from Andre Valentino, and bag from Charles and Keith. By the way, Happy Independence day everyone!
